Rock Gravel

Rock Gravel

Department Manager for Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems, and Suppression Systems

Michael “Rock” Gravel brings over 30 years of experience in the fire protection industry, including time as a firefighter. As the head of Taylor Fire’s Special Hazards division, he oversees the design, installation, and maintenance of fire protection systems for various high-risk environments, including oil processing facilities, marine vessels, commercial kitchens, and server rooms. His extensive knowledge and problem-solving skills ensure that even the most complex fire protection challenges are met with practical solutions.

Originally from Juneau, Rock moved to the Mat-Su Valley 15 years ago and joined Taylor Fire immediately upon arrival. His first week on the job set the tone for his career—flying to a remote lodge on a ski plane, traveling by dog sled, and taking a four-wheeler to install a kitchen fire system. His response? “I love this job!” Since then, he has worked across Alaska, embracing both the trade and the breathtaking landscapes along the way. With a "don’t take can’t" attitude, Rock is committed to finding solutions for every project that comes his way.
